Healer beyond boundaries
When I was a young girl growing up in Mexico, I stood out. I came from a different culture and I was different. I learned that being different led to pain. Maybe that’s why creating equity for the underdog has been a driver my whole life. After watching my grandfather heal people, I knew I would create equity in healthcare.
As a practicing physician however, I was frustrated that I couldn’t magically heal patients. There was a disconnect between writing a prescription and seeing change. “There must be something else,” I thought. Turns out, that “something else” was education.
Since then, I have dedicated my life to helping patients through education. I lead a team of talented and passionate people who use their minds, hearts, and hands to bring equity and healing to patients.
My role is to empower them with the autonomy to do what they need to do, the mastery to do it well, and the purpose to do it with passion.
My greatest joy comes from helping others. There is nothing more amazing than seeing an entire life change because we found and delivered a solution. In fact, I get goose bumps when I talk about helping patients.
