What gifts from your past have turned out to be your superpowers today? Sometimes, what is hindering us in the present is rooted in our past. In her interview segment, Elena speaks with a very special guest—dynamite actor, improviser, and producer Santino Jimenez. Santino and Elena grew up together in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and their lives have taken interesting turns. While Elena went off to pursue music in New York, Santino headed to LA to pursue his acting career. Now, the two have reconnected and, in this conversation, you’ll hear about their childhoods, the ways they were shaped by their community and families, and how the gifts they were given in their pasts have propelled them in their lives now. Just a guy...
Santino Jimenez is an actor, improviser and producer.
He was born in Las Cruces, NM and named after James Caan’s role in the Godfather: Santino “Sonny” Corleone. His parents’ biggest worry was that people would call him Sonny, his was not getting set-up at a toll booth and shot. His first memory of acting was in the first grade when he had to sing and carry a brown tempera painted cardboard cutout of a donkey down a church aisle for a Christmas show. Since then, he’s appeared on RAISING HOPE, THE MICK, BAD JUDGE, and ONE DAY AT A TIME to name a few. Santino can often be found watching reruns of Kitchen Nightmares, eating a Chipotle chicken bowl, or reading a book.
